Prepare Documents for UPU Rayuan (Appeal)
If UPU results didn't go the way you hoped, rayuan is the second chance — but the window to submit is short, usually around 10 days. This isn't the time to be scrambling with oversized scans or files in the wrong order. Here's what's typically needed and how to get it ready fast.
Know Your Window
The rayuan period typically opens on the same day results are announced and stays open for about 10 days. It's only available to candidates who received no offer at all, or who were only offered a certificate-level place at Politeknik, Kolej Komuniti, or ILKA rather than the diploma or degree level they applied for. Candidates who already accepted an offer generally cannot appeal to change programs.
Exact dates change every year and are announced on the official UPU Online portal (upu.mohe.gov.my) — check there directly rather than relying on last year's dates, since even a day's delay can mean missing the window entirely.
What Documents Are Usually Needed
Requirements vary by appeal reason, but commonly requested supporting documents include:
- Identity card (MyKad) — front and back
- SPM or STPM result slip
- Co-curricular activity certificates
- Family income information / supporting statement
- Any additional supporting documents relevant to your specific appeal reason
Document requirements are set by UPU each session and can change. Confirm the current list on the official rayuan guidelines before you start scanning, so you don't waste time preparing something that isn't actually required — or miss something that is.

Your IC scan and result slip need to stay legible, so they need a lighter compression level; a co-curricular certificate or supporting letter can usually take a more aggressive setting without anyone needing to read fine print off it.
