The Ministry of Education Malaysia provides official digital copies of SPM and STPM results through the Semakan Keputusan portal. If your result slip is available there as a PDF download, it's already a small, clean, text-based PDF — often 200–500KB, which clears any portal limit without any compression needed. Log in with your IC number and download before scanning a physical copy.

Check the file size first

Critical Checks Before Submitting
Before uploading to any scholarship or university portal, confirm all of the following in your compressed result slip:
- ✅ Your full name matches exactly as registered
- ✅ IC number is clearly readable
- ✅ All subject names are legible
- ✅ Every grade (A+, A, B+, B, etc.) is clear and unambiguous
- ✅ Credit count / number of passes is readable
- ✅ The exam year and centre code are visible
- ✅ Any official stamp or embossment (if applicable) is distinguishable
UPU and scholarship portals get extremely slow during peak application periods. Prepare all your compressed documents — result slip, IC, certs, school recommendation letter — at least a week before the deadline. Don't be compressing files at 11pm the night before submissions close.
