1. What This Means

ShrinkPDF is free to use and does not require an account or subscription. To help cover the cost of running the site, some pages — mainly our Guides — include links to third-party PDF software and services. A number of these are affiliate links, meaning that if you click through and make a purchase, ShrinkPDF may earn a commission from the seller. This comes at no additional cost to you; the price you pay is the same whether or not you use our link.

2. How It Works

We participate in affiliate programs through CJ Affiliate and, where relevant, direct partner programs run by the software vendors themselves. Brands we currently link to under affiliate arrangements include ABBYY, UPDF, PDF Extra, pCloud, and IDrive. This list may change over time as our partnerships change.

Affiliate links are typically found in guide articles where we discuss a specific need — for example, OCR software, a full-featured PDF editor, or cloud storage — that goes beyond what our free browser-based tools cover.

3. Our Editorial Independence

Being an affiliate partner does not mean a product is paid to appear on ShrinkPDF, and it does not buy a positive review. We only link to tools we genuinely think are useful for the situation being discussed in that guide. Whether a company is an affiliate partner or not has no bearing on the core functionality of ShrinkPDF itself — every tool on this site (compress, merge, split, rotate, reorder, watermark, page numbers, and image conversion) remains free and unaffected by any affiliate relationship.

4. Advertising (Separate from Affiliate Links)

In addition to affiliate links, ShrinkPDF displays advertising served by Google AdSense. This is a separate arrangement from our affiliate partnerships. Details on how AdSense uses cookies and data are covered in our Privacy Policy.

5. How to Identify Affiliate Links

Affiliate links on ShrinkPDF point to external, third-party websites — you can always tell by checking the domain in your browser once you click through. If you'd prefer not to use an affiliate link, you can search for the same product directly; you'll simply be visiting the vendor's site without going through our link.

This disclosure is provided in line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on affiliate marketing disclosure, as well as general consumer-protection expectations around transparency in affiliate and sponsored content.
